Through the process of letting technology play an important factor in their lives, the Jetson family has lost the value of tradition in their everyday lives. Through this episode, it does not look as it the family has let technology affect their lives in a negative way, but it is evident that they are very reliant upon it. In a typical, both parents usually wake up around the same time and prepare for the day together, but in the Jetsons, the father wakes up last when all his kids have already left for school. Also, a traditional bonding time is when families eat meals together but in this family, each person eats by themselves. In the lifestyle of the Jetsons, the mom does not cook for her family, but rather presses buttons on a machine that does the work for her. Traditionally in a family, a mother would do the cooking for her family. The Jetsons are a family that has let traditional authority slip a little bit in their lives. And Sweep the house?" This shows that both the Hadleys and the Jetsons have become so reliant on technology that without it, life seems a lot harder. For example, when Lydia mentions to George that she wants to shut off the house, he is taken back asking her, "You mean you want to fry my eggs for me?. In "The Veldt," the house also does everything for the people living in it such as cooking, and the idea of human labour to do everyday chores is abnormal. Also, no one in the family gets any sort of exercise because they have movators to take them wherever they want to go. When the machine breaks down, the only resolution for the problem is to buy a new one because no one knows how to cook they all depend on technology to cook for them. The mother in the Jetsons does not cook for her children and husband, but rather presses buttons on a machine that makes the food. The Jetsons in the above video clip rely on technology for their basic necessities such as food, and transportation. The Jetsons and The Hadleys from the short story, "The Veldt," rely on technology for almost everything in their lives and are very dependent on it. Too many people are getting easy lives based on what they're born into and too many people who are genuinely honest, hard workers are struggling to even FEED themselves. This is a video clip of The Jetsons, a family who lives in the future and whose lives are greatly impacted by technology. If it was, more people would be wildly successful. I don't like people who mock one another. I don't want to drive, I'd rather live in a town with great public transit. What do you drive and what you really like to drive? What's the last meal you want before you die? I don't know, maybe most eggs? It depends on how they're cooked. I've always seen water as a soothing and refreshing sort of element, I'd probably be happiest with some kind of curative ability.įace. If you had a super power, what would it be? Way too hard to choose one general favorite color. My scary stabby lunatic murderer of a husband stabbings. I don't follow any religion but I rely on my empathy to direct how I behave. What is your belief/religion if you believe in anything at all? Well stabbings thought I was a weird furry I guess. What did your friends notice about you when they first met you?
